Online jobs or desk jobs, which are better? Well, as regards desk jobs,
I've been there and done that and now I can say with absolute
conviction, as far as I am concerned, online jobs are the best. At
least, that's what works for me though this concept might not work for
everybody. It all depends on many factors such as what suits your
lifestyle, personality, ability to work in a team, take orders, ability
to reach work at 9AM etc.
On the other hand, if you stick to online jobs, lets face it; you would never make as much money as the marketing manager or the managing director of a company and you wouldn't be eligible for free health insurance as you would be with most desk jobs. Granted, there are many perks with a regular job that you would never get with online jobs but then you have to decide what you are looking for in life.
In my opinion, the worst thing with a regular job is trying to make it at 9AM or even 9.30AM through all that crazy traffic which is getting worse by the day and then by the time you leave office and negotiate the traffic to reach home, it's almost nearing bedtime. Getting to work on time is increasingly becoming a superhuman effort. Coming late to office every other day and getting that horrible sinking feeling at the pit of your stomach that you might run into a manager is the most unpleasant experience.
With online jobs - such as data entry jobs, you can work to your convenience and you are not answerable to anyone about how you structure your work schedule as long as you deliver your projects on time. A lot of housewives are discovering to their delight that they can make considerable pocket money in their free time. All they need is a computer and a reliable net connection. There seems to be enough work out there and the growth projections for the online work industry are positive.
From my experience, it takes a couple of months of exploring cyberspace and experimenting before you find what really suits you and also the online job that pays well. The reason being that most online jobs don't pay that well per project and to make enough money, you need to do as many projects as possible which translates into more hours of the day. This is ironical because although your timings are flexible unlike desk jobs, you end up putting in more hours of work in a day with online jobs to make it financially viable to work from home. On the other hand, if you are a housewife on whom does not rest the responsibility to bring home the bacon, even a small amount may be satisfactory.
Another word of caution for those who seek to switch to online jobs is to be extra wary of companies from another city or country because if the employer is unscrupulous, then you might never get your money.
So, if you are considering online jobs, these are the pros and cons. The rest is up to you.
